Renewable Energy Events

Here are some of the upcoming Renewable Energy events coming up in our area. Please spread the word and, most importantly, attend as many as possible.


Our Clean Energy Future - July 15th

On Saturday, July 15th, the 34th District is sponsoring an Energy Forum and Fair. U.S. Representative Jay Inslee, a national leader on energy issues, will keynote the forum.
Come talk with him and many of the other individuals and organizations who are leading the search for alternatives to fossil fuels, and who are actively working to combat global warming and climate change. Democracy for Snohomish County will be presenting its first annual Renewable Energy Symposium and Expo on August 18th and 19th in Everett Washington, with keynote speaker Julian Darley – Founder/Director of the Post Carbon Institute.

The symposium will take place on Friday evening, August 18th in the auditorium of the Snohomish County PUD in Everett, from 7 to 9 PM. We will be presenting speakers who will inform and enlighten the public on the energy realities facing us on a local, regional, and global scale and speak to some of the initiatives being pursued to address these realities. In addition to Julian Darley, others schedule to speak are 44th LD State Representative, Hans Dunshee and 1st CD Congressman, Jay Inslee.

Tickets for the symposium are $10 per person (to offset costs) and are on a first come-first served basis. Tickets may be purchased by mailing a check (payable to Democracy for Snohomish County) to PO Box 7005 – Lynwood, WA 98046. Please include a note indicating the number of tickets you are requesting and a return mailing address. Tickets may also be purchased online (via Pay-Pal) at our event Website: http://SustainableEverett.com. Please allow 10 working days for delivery.

The Expo will be on Saturday, August 19th at the Everett Labor Temple from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Commercial, educational, and non-profit exhibitors and vendors from around the Northwest will be on hand to display and demonstrate goods and services intended to assist the consumer in becoming more energy efficient and responsible. This event will be free to the general public.
