Eskow’s post tells about American soldiers diagnosed with severe mental health problems – specifically Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – being recycled back to the very situation that induced their condition. He writes,
” These soldiers, just like those who have suffered physical injury, have made a sacrifice on behalf of their country. They should be honored and respected, not denigrated. They deserve all the medical care they require, and should receive a hero's welcome when they come home.
Here's what happens instead when soldiers like Bryce Syverson fall victim to PTSD.
"It ended up they just took his weapon away from him and said he was non-deployable and couldn't have a weapon," says his father, Larry Syverson. "He was on suicide watch in a lockdown."
The CBS report continues:
That was last August. This August, he was deployed to Ramadi, in the heart of the Sunni triangle -- and he had a weapon.”
The CBS report that Eskow refers to may be found Here
The U.S. Constitution protects prisoners who have been convicted of the most heinous crimes from “cruel and unusual punishment”. You would think American heroes would be provided at least that same protection. Then again, under the reign of King George, the Constitution has been replaced by the "Military Commissions Act".

Carlisle Group and Halliburton MUST make money. Since they make money off wars, aMERICAN SOLDIERS MUST DIE FOR THEM TO MAKE MONEY.
Every American needs to get really clear on this.
Every American that has lost a friend or loved one needs to get clear on why their sons and daughters died: to increase the profits of Bechtel, Halliburton, General Electric, Raytheon, Carlisle Group, and Blackwater.
Face the truth: this is why our people die.
It clears a lot of confusion once you see it.
This war was never about managing it well. If it is mismanaged, Carlisle Group, Bechtel, Blackwater, and Halliburton make more money.
The last thing Cheney and Bush want is a well managed war, or even worse, peace. They make no money at all on peace, and in a war where mangement is well done, their profits are trackable and a lot smaller.
These guys thrive in completely unregulated business environments. Creating a messy war where no one is accountable, no one knows what is going on, and no one is tracking the money, is Heaven on Earth for them.
The simple truth is they start wars to make money.
Time to talk about the 900 lb gorilla in the room - war as profitable business.
Yogi,
Welcome to The Left Shue and thank you for your perspective. It is indeed a sad commentary on our society that most Americans are willing to overlook the gorilla so long as it doesn't block their view of Dancing with the Stars.
By the way, as a musician myself, I am blown away by the Yoginis.
