Toward a More Perfect Union?
I have stated my concerns about Barack Obama's ability to win in a general election campaign and to lead if he were to be elected president. I have never faulted his oratory nor his charisma. What follows is what I consider to be one of the most important speeches by a public official since the days of my wide eyed youth - the days in which Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, and Robert F. Kennedy moved a nation with their words.

I thought Obama's speech was inspiring and very well thought out.
It should be a reminder that he is not only a black man, he is also white. His background has given him a perspective few others have. Who better can bring us all back together and bring back the great country and world that we all want to live in.
As a nation we need a leader who has a vision of the potential of our country. We need someone who can speak effectively and inspire us. It is our duty as citizens to work hard to influence his policies and his attitudes so that he will be able to respond to the people. Let us not shirk our duty in this regard. It is time NOW to convey our Progressive message to his campaign. If they want our support and our votes, then they'd better hear us and let us know that we've been heard.
